Smt. Shyamala Madhuri Athkur is an accomplished instrumentalist and singer. Not only does she have a Master of Arts in Veena and vocals, she also has a diploma in light music. She has performed in many musical concerts and programs in Malaysia, and has won many national awards in addition to the Pratibha award, the Kalaratna and Seva Shiromani awards and the best Teachers award.
